I came across several answers for this topic here but none of them seem to solve my issues. I'm running out of space on Gmail and there are some really unnecessary emails on Gmail that deserve to go. I setup Thunderbird on my windows laptop and it worked fine. I set up my Gmail as an IMAP account and I can see my emails. However, when I delete emails in Thunderbird, they are still present in Gmail. How do I have emails in Gmail delete when they are deleted in Thunderbird?

I don't understand why they're recommending against this. Isn't this how deleting emails from Gmail normally works? When I delete an email in regular Gmail, it goes to my Trash. Then it gets deleted in 30 days. Why are they recommending against this process? If I set email to be moved to the Trash folder in my Gmail account in Thunderbird Account settings, it works normally.

I was able to finally get this to work by setting up 2 factor id on my gmail account even though I didn't really want it and then set up the app password and used that. Otherwise I hade done everything ckaas88 mentioned and none of it worked. Now it works.

in fact I want attachments to be forwarded from Gmail, but the first step of verifycode is obstacle. if once I get verification code somehow, I can then auto forward all gmail attachments to addtodropbox folder.

but there is no way of getting the verification code of forwarded address. in case gmail can forward the verification code as attachment or body matter as jpg file etc then I would have been possible.... but no way as of now it seems

Every document parser in your account has a unique and secret email address to which you can forward emails with PDF attachments. With Gmail, it is easy to set up a filter which will automatically forward specific emails to your Document Parser - all you need to do is to create a filter in Gmail and define a forwarding address for this filter. For the last three weeks or so I have been unable to upload pdfs to my Gmail emails. Every time I try I get 'Attachment failed'. It's fine with Word documents. I have uploaded the most recent versions of Java and Adobe Flash Player, but it has made no difference.

the new forefox 17 anfd gmail does not have an attachment option so do not keep saying what was right about 3 years ago.

in general setting i do not have attachment to do it standard or basic.

I even tried creating a zip file to less than 1.5mb, yet the gmail will not upload.

The problem is with GMAIL. It will always occur if you have 2 different GMAIL or Google accounts open on your computer at the same time.

Close them both, open the gmail account you wish to send the attachment with and only that account, and it should up load fine.
