Ioanna Opidee has 15 years of combined experience teaching at the high school and college levels. She is the author of the novel Waking Slow, which was named a finalist for a Foreword Indies Book of the Year Award and cited as an “arresting, timely” story by The Boston Globe. She has worked as a staff journalist, a freelance editor, a manuscript consultant, and a marketing professional, and she holds a BA in English from Boston College, an MA in English from the University of Massachusetts in Boston, and a MFA in Creative Writing from Fairfield University. She has taught at Fairfield University, UConn Stamford, Florida Atlantic University, and UMass Boston.
One of Ioanna's greatest passions is working with other writers, at any level, to help them achieve their goals, whether they be getting into the right college, preparing a manuscript for publication, improving specific skills, or discovering and empowering their writerly "voice."
