• Discoverer of a role of graphene as 2D structure- and morphology-directing agent for inorganic solids 

• Discoverer of triazole-based N-rich carbon nitrides (C3N5, C3N6 and C3N7)

• Inventor of soft-chemical hybridization route to ordered nanoporous material-2D nanosheet hybrid materials using 2D nanosheet-silica templates
