Study about sense of self has captured many researchers' attention in psychology and cognitive neuroscience.
However, SELF is too vague to experimentally investigate, which requires experimental psychologist to decompose it into more controllable concepts.
Shaun Gallagher has tried to decompose SELF into minimal and narrative self, and also separate the minimal self into two sub-concepts, sense of body ownership and agency.
Based on this concept, we has studied SELF using tactile perception, movement perception, visuo-tactile integration, and body recognition.
Here, we report the tentative results about the series of studies.
Also we invite some excellent researchers investigating the related phenomena, and discuss about the future direction of SELF study.
