EO-based Climate Hazard Toolbox

Exploring open dataset from Google Earth Engine

Satellite-derived spatial data is granular, timely, and often free to use. These data layers enable in-depth analysis of multiple environmental and climate issues on vulnerable populations. This published climate hazard toolbox aims to ease data access for users to perform GIS analysis.

With data explorer, users can download gridded data layers for any city in the world. For data analysis, the analysis tool allows users to perform specific computations using earth observation data. Using the map comparison tool, users can compare climate risk-related variables for different admin regions and download the corresponding data table.

Data Explorer

(Under development 🚧)

Through data explorer, user can download diverse urban datasets for any global regions. To start with, select location for different admin levels. User can customize the output resolution using the provided slider. For continuous values mean resampling will be used, for discrete values mode resampling will be applied.

Click export and download to store the desired data layers into your local device. Output will be exported in a zip file with projection EPSG: 4326. Depends on the area size, high resolution export might leads to long waiting time (unresponsive alert) and export failures due to limits from Google Earth Engine. It is recommended to try once again using a lower resolution.

Data Analysis Tool

(Under development 🚧)

Analysis explorer enables user to perform diverse analysis using satellite data hosted on the Google server. To begin with, select a task from the drop-down menu, then click let's go. Select location from the side bar to customize area of interests. Visualization will be interactively displayed in the result panel. User can download a static figure or a csv file for further analysis and visualization.
