McLeod Athletic Park
Meet your Clinic Coordinator!
Clinic Coordinator: Sandra Sayer
About Sandra: Just a speed-luvin', slow running, cookie baking, country girl at heart.
How long have you been involved with the InTraining Program? This will be my 3rd year as leader/coordinator. I have been a participant in previous years.
What is your favourite InTraining memory? I love seeing folks coming in and, regardless of age/previous activity levels/whatever, complete the InTraining program and discover they can do it! All of the participants encourage each other and, in some cases, challenge each other every week.
Favourite place to run/walk? Campbell Valley Park
What can participants look forward to this year with the W.C. Blair group? Having fun!
What participants have to say about the InTraining Program at McLeod Athletic Park:
"I hated running before I started this program....now I hate it if I miss my run! The encouragement and support of the leaders and other participants made it easy. A big thank you to the leaders for all their hard work!" - Janice, Participant
"Adding fun, motivation and support to our clinic, whether it was for the newbies or returnees, runners or walkers, Sandra displayed grace under fire from go to whoa. Like a lot of other clinics hit by snow and less than ideal winter weather this year, Sandra injected life and mini-challenges into each week, and checked up on those who were ill, losing confidence or thinking about dropping out. The highlight was her rescue of a senior whose scooter had died trying to get home from grocery shopping. She and her crew, as part of the cool-down walk, took the senior home, plugged in his scooter and made a friend for life. I could stay home and run for free, or run with friends, but she made her weekly sessions don't-miss events, and I looked forward to each Saturday morning!" - W.C. Blair Participant
"Very rewarding! Without the clinic, I would have no motivation to exercise!" - Bruno, Participant
"The leaders were all so encouraging and supportive - it was a lot of fun!" - Participant
