Team History

Holy Crap, there was an ambush staged in Hamilton Lakes. Those poor guys just did not know who they were messing with.

Frank and Rick started out slow on court one. A very long first set ends with the bad guys up 6-2.

Things did not look any better on count two were Doerr and Gary were getting blown out 6-1. Ohh man I was fit to be tied.

The only thing keeping me from jumping was Ron and Jay taking the first set 6-3.

I knew they would be ready for us, but I did not see this happening.

Then in the blink of an eye our guys turned the tables. It is not always easy to keep poised when you took a betting in the first set, But on court one Rick stated hitting his serve and Frank who may have not been having his best physical game, changed up his playing style. Started lobbing and hitting some nice deep backhands (that Frank is a crafty old dude) , we all know Rick has one hell of a forehand, and after being down 3-0 in second set came storming back to tie it 4-4 can we have a hell ya!!

Meanwhile on court two. Mike and Gary had totally taken control. Doerr’s now legendary drop and slice shots had taken their toll and Gary was starting to pick apart the other pair with some nice ground strokes and strong service games they take the 2nd set 6-2.

Unfortunately Frank and Rick are not able to push through the final two games and go down 6-2, 6-4 to a very tough pair.

Time to get nervous again, Can Gary and Doerr carry their momentum into the 3rd set tiebreaker? No problem they keep tight control of the breaker and win 1-6, 6-2, (10-6).

We are 1-1, oh ya what the heck is happening on court three, The very minute I look to their court Ron and Jay finish off their opponents 6-3, 6-3.

So that is why we play; beautiful night, good opponents and big challenges.

And we win to keep control of First.
