Privacy Policy
In line with the General Data Protection Regulations, introduced on 25 May 2018, this privacy policy explains how your personal information will be collected, used, protected, processed and shared. You may provide this information verbally or written, over the telephone, email, text message or by any other means.
In line with insurance requirements, all records will be retained for a period of 7 years after your last appointment, or in the case of minors, for 7 years after their 18th birthday.
Your tutor or healer is the data holder in respect of the GDRP and you can be assured that:
any data collected is relevant to the provision of training and/or client treatment services
no marketing material will be sent out unless clients/students have specifically agreed to this
confidentiality of your data is paramount
data will not be shared with organisations other than The Healing Trust and UK Healers
information provided will not be used to research data on clients or students
data will not be acquired on behalf of third parties
However, despite reassurances of confidentiality, there are rare occasions when it is necessary to divulge data to another party in order to comply with UK legislation, such as
if a client or student discloses that s/he is going to commit a crime
if a client or student has a notifiable disease
if requested by a court of law
The following section has been divided into 2 categories to apply to both clients and students respectively.
Clients
Data collected from clients will naturally be of a personal nature. The purpose of collecting this data is to ensure the client’s health and wellbeing with regard to treatments received. There are occasionally reasons which make it unwise for treatments to go ahead or where it is necessary to exercise caution. The data you provide will help in making the right decision for you as an individual.
You may be asked to provide basic information regarding contact details, your doctor’s contact details, your date of birth, details of operations, illnesses or conditions and general information regarding you as an individual in order to build a picture of you and to be able to offer advice on health and wellbeing.
This data is collected in order to:
provide and deliver the service you request
process payment transactions
provide invoices and receipts
contact you with appointment information or changes to the same
respond to your comments and questions in order to provide good customer service
send marketing/promotional material if you have given your consent to do so
contact your next of kin or your named support person in the case of an emergency
Students
Each student will need to complete paperwork in order to enrol on a course or workshop. This paperwork holds contact information (eg name, address, telephone number, email address), together with general questions about the student’s background and the intended course.
This data is collected in order to:
provide and deliver the service you request
process payment transactions
provide invoices and receipts
contact you regarding course information
respond to your comments and questions in order to provide good customer service
liaise, if necessary, with The Healing Trust and UK Healers
order course notes and certificates from The Healing Trust
store course work eg assignments
return logbooks, assignments etc to students, as needed
send marketing/promotional material if you have given your consent to do so
contact your next of kin or your named support person in the case of an emergency
General
Any data provided by clients and students has, and must, be given voluntarily.
Data may be stored either electronically or written. Written data is stored securely under lock and key, and electronic data is password protected.
If clients/students wish to see the data held about them, or wish to update any data, they can make a written request which will be actioned as quickly as possible.
The tutor and The Healing Trust are data protection registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
