The Fairly OddParents is an American animated series created by Butch Hartman. It is about a 10-year-old boy named Timmy Turner who has fairy godparents named Cosmo and Wanda (and later also a fairy godbrother named Poof) who can grant his wishes. Among other things, he is constantly mistreated by his 16-year-old babysitter Vicky, and his parents are completely oblivious to Vicky's malevolence toward their son. It was produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio in association with Fred Seibert's production label Frederator Studios and (from season 6 onward) Butch Hartman's production label Billionfold Inc.
Outside the United States, the distribution rights to the first 70 episodes of The Fairly OddParents are held by the Canadian production and distribution company Nelvana (with all dubs of the first 70 episodes being produced for television channels that acquired the series from Nelvana); the final Nelvana-owned episode of The Fairly OddParents is season 5 episode 11 ("Crash Nebula"). From season 5 episode 12 ("Mooooving Day"/"Big Wanda") onward, The Fairly OddParents is wholly owned and distributed by Nickelodeon; most dubs covering seasons 5B to 10 of the series have been produced directly for Nickelodeon alone.
