When releasing our first educational IDE, PyCharm Edu, one of our goals was to simplify the typically complex IDE UI to make it more accessible for novice programmers. An easier UI was meant to help them avoid the distraction of advanced IDE features and stay focused on their learning.

Note that IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate, PyCharm Professional Edition, CLion, GoLand, WebStorm, and PhpStorm offer a free 30-day trial only. Students and teachers can apply for a free educational license to get access to JetBrains IDEs.

We will no longer provide technical updates to IntelliJ IDEA Edu and PyCharm Edu. However, you can still get the latest educational functionality by updating the EduTools plugin in IntelliJ IDEA Edu and PyCharm Edu. Abstract: On the basis of our administrative experiences and gaps in the literature, the authors develop a very practical theory, namely the (ADR) alignment-dealignment-realignment perspective. Using a sample of 80 questionnaires targeting university administrators in Albania, the authors hypothesise direct linkages between education process, quality of support services, achieving sustainability in higher education. The SSPS statistical package was employed to receive reliability analysis, Spearman's correlation, and Chi-square test results. If from one side, budgeting, research, human resource issues, and student's matters are found to have a strong positive monotonic correlation between both, quantity-quality aspects, and information given on a timely basis, the academic policies and degree programs are showing a weak relationship. Additionally, different management categories have different opinions regarding the reasons for which the problem in the HE system occurs. The survey analysis provides valuable insights regarding the existing communication gap among the university administrators and the challenges of HEIs.

Replit ( ) is a great free online development environment. You can login with a Google account or make an account and create new projects (click the + new repl button and type in Java) and all of your code will be kept online in your account. Replit is a great option if you are using a Chromebook or you cannot install software on your computer or you want an easy no-installation option. Replit also has a free for teachers plan called Teams for Education ( -for-education) where teachers can set up virtual classrooms. Github provides many free opportunities for students and teachers ( ).Github Classroom ( ) allows teachers to set up a classroom based on github repositories.Github and git are widely used in the computer industry, so learning to use it is great experience for students.Github now has a cloud IDE called Codespaces ( ) which you can use for 60 hours a month for free or completely free if you join as a school or get approved as a teacher or student.In Codespaces, you can start from a blank template or a repo, open a .java file in the VSCode editor, follow prompts to install the Extension Pack for Java, click on the Run and Debug (play button), follow the prompts to install the Java debugger, and see the output of your code in the terminal.You can also use Copilot ( ), which is a coding AI based on GPT, for free if you are approved for educational use.

In the joint educational program, the institutions aim to create a launch site for top performing students. The Joint Research Labs at the Institute of Advanced Studies on Constructor University campus will drive the future of software development by virtue of industry-oriented education and training. With this new development, Constructor University, as a part of the Constructor Group, will sharpen its profile in Computer Science and Software Engineering research and education, and will dramatically increase student numbers in the short and long term.

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is a Microsoft program to provide students with software design and development tools at no charge (similar programs to this used to include Microsoft Dreamspark and Microsoft IMAGINE). Microsoft software licensed under the Azure program is available for students and faculty that use this software for educational purposes. Previously students would need to be part of a STEM program and request an account for Microsoft Imagine/Dreamspark. This is no longer the case as Microsoft has changed their service. The table below lists the Windows, Macintosh, Unix or Linux software packages for which ITS has made special purchase arrangements. Some software is site-licensed for unlimited use campus-wide. Other software has been made available through educational discounts for volume purchase. Some licenses may restrict the number of copies, the type of use, duration of license, or the location of machines that software may be used on.
