T-GEM is a framework that integrates three phases of teaching strategies to support student processing and learning through the web or other technological applications (Khan, 2011, pp. 59-60). The three phases of T-Gem are as follows:
The teacher helps students Generate (G) ideas,
The teacher works with students to Evaluate (E) their ideas, and
The students Modify (M) their ideas individually and as a class.
In Khan's (2011) GEM cycle, teacher and student strategies and processes are identified to support the learner in constructing their understanding by generating relationships and critical thinking skills with the content.
The GEM model focuses on the student engaging with a concept and actively engaging, manipulating and modifying their relationship to gain a deeper understanding.
