Integrable models are one of the cornerstones of theoretical physics, and have shaped our understanding of classical mechanics, field theory, quantum physics, and more recently string theory and supersymmetric gauge theory.
This meeting is part of a series of informal workshops furthering our understanding of integrability in the context of string theory, quantum field theory by bringing together a small group of experts in an informal environment. In particular, the meetings focus on the study of the AdS3/CFT2 duality, integrable deformations of AdS/CFT, and integrable defects. The spirit of all these meeting is to include long blackboard presentations and ample time for discussions.
Previous meetings in this spirit include
A fresh look at AdS3/CFT2, Castasegna (CH), September 2018
New frontiers of integrable deformations, Castasegna (CH), September 2019
Correlation Functions in Low-Dimensional AdS/CFT, Castasegna (CH), October 2020
Integrability in low-supersymmetry theories 2023, Filicudi (IT), June 2023
Integrability in low-supersymmetry theories 2024, Trani (IT), July 2024
Exact approaches to low-supersymmetry AdS/CFT, Stony Brook (US), October 2024
This meeting will be dedicated to recent advances in the theory of integrable models with particular reference to higher-dimensional models, both in the context of string and brane theory, of integrable deformations (including T-Tbar deformations) and AdS/CFT.
The meeting will take place at the Ex Stabilimento Florio delle tonnare di Favignana e Formica on the Island of Favignana, from June 3 to June 13, 2025.
The program will include long blackboard presentations and plenty of time for discussion in the former refectory of the Tonnara Florio, which is located in the main town of Favignana, by the harbour. We will provide more information closer to the beginning of the event.
Please note that Favignana is an island off the coast of Sicily, part of the Egadi archipelago. It is connected to Sicily by a regular boat service from Trapani harbour: a fast boat ("aliscafo", i.e. hydrofoil) which takes about 30 minutes for passengers only, and a slower ferry which for passengers and vehicles. The fast boat, which is probably the best option if you don't have a car.
The fast boat from Trapani is operated by Liberty Lines, with 9 departures per day. Fast boats also operate from the nearby city of Marsala (3 boats per day).
The ferry is operated by Caronte (as of today, the summer schedule is not yet available).
The nearest international airports is Trapani Airport, which is mostly served by low-cost airlines (Ryanair, Corendon, Aeroitalia, GoToFly). The next largest airport is Palermo Airport (about 100 km away, an hour by coach) which is served by low cost and full-service airlines. A hourly coach service, operated by Segesta Autolinee, connects Palermo Airport to Trapani center and Trapani harbour. Please click on the airport links for a list of direct flights from either airport.
Please note that Monday, June 2 is a National Holiday in Italy. Hence, there will be no scientific program on that day other than a welcome party on the evening. Boats to/from Favignana runs regularly. You are of course welcome to arrive in Sicily earlier and visit Favignana, or Trapani, Palermo or the nearby Marsala.
The potential participants who are keen on planning their trip well in advance and need further information should contact the organisers.
Workshop participants are requested to book their own accommodation at their own expense. Favignana offers plenty of options (hotels, B&B, apartments) at different price points. For convenience, we have arranged for a contingent of rooms to be reserved for our participants at a special price, starting from 70 Euro / night (incl. breakfast) at the Mangia's resort. The resort is located in the south-east corner of the island, 4.5km from the conference venue. We will arrange transportation (shuttle vans or rental bikes) to the conference venue. Please note that the preferred prices are guaranteed until December 20, 2024, and only when booking through Mangia's website (NOT Booking.com or similar portals). Please contact the organisers to obtain the discount codes.

The island of Marettimo is the westernmost and wildest island of the Egadi archipelago. Much of the waters surrounding it constitute a protected marine area ("area marina protetta") to preserve is teeming wildlife.
We foresee a boat excursion to the island on Saturday, June 7, with departure from Favignana. Note however that the precise date will depends on the weather and sea conditions.
The excursion will be an opportunity to learn about the wildlife unique natural environment of the Egadi archipelago.
Further details on the excursions will follow.
