MAT 515: Geometry for teachers-- Fall 2025

• Lectures: MW 6:30- 7:50 pm in Physics P-130

• Office Hours: Mon 4:00-5:00 pm, Wed 4:00-5:00 pm

• Description: A re-examination of elementary geometry using concepts from analysis and algebra. Mathematical topics integrate the study of the historical development of Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries, including contributions from diverse cultures.

• Textbook: Kiselev's Geometry (Book I, Planimetry)

• Exams: 

Midterm: Oct. 8th (tentative)

Final: Dec. 10th, 8:30pm – 11:00pm

• Homework: problem-solving assignments every 1.5 week

• Final course grade will be determined by a weighted average of below
