Instant Pot air fryers that truly deliver come down to the Instant Pot Accessory Official Air, which wins because its specialized silicone tray design prevents food from flying around while maximizing airflow for even cooking. If you need a standalone unit with a transparent window to monitor progress without losing heat, the Instant Pot Vortex Plus ClearCook is my immediate runner-up for its unique visibility feature.
• Instant Pot Accessory Official Air — best for enhancing airflow and stability in existing units; pick this if you want to stop food from blowing around and ensure consistent crispiness on fries or wings.
• Instant Pot Vortex Plus ClearCook — best for visual monitoring during cooking; pick this if you prefer checking your food's doneness through a clear window without interrupting the cooking cycle.
• Instant Pot Vortex Plus XL — best for large family meals and dual-basket versatility; pick this if you need to cook a main dish and side simultaneously using SyncCook technology.
• Instant Pot 4Qt — best for compact kitchens and single servings; pick this if you need a space-saving appliance that still handles four portions with high-efficiency EvenCrisp technology.
• Instant Pot 4Qt — best for minimalist black aesthetics in small spaces; pick this if you want the same performance as the Rosewater model but prefer a classic black finish for your counter.
• Instant Pot VORTEX Plus 6QT — best for versatile temperature control and sleek metal finishes; pick this if you want a wide temperature range from low dehydration to high roasting with a durable stainless steel exterior.
This product stands apart because it isn't a standalone machine but rather a high-performance accessory designed specifically for the Instant Pot ecosystem. It is a reusable, non-stick silicone tray built to fit inside your existing air fryer basket. The primary value here lies in its ability to lift, separate, and secure food items like chips, fries, wings, and toast. This design ensures that hot air circulates freely around every piece of food rather than getting trapped underneath a solid pan, which is a common issue with standard trays.
I recommend this for anyone who already owns an Instant Pot air fryer but feels their results are inconsistent. The tray's innovative structure keeps lightweight foods from being tossed around by the fan, a problem that often leads to uneven cooking or burnt spots. By maintaining a stable position, the food cooks evenly on all sides. It is also rated to withstand temperatures up to 500°F, meaning it can handle high-heat crisping sessions without warping or melting, which adds significant longevity to the kitchen tool.
The trade-off is that this item does not function independently; it requires an existing air fryer unit to work. However, for those looking to upgrade their current setup without buying a new appliance, this is a cost-effective solution. The material is food-grade silicone and dishwasher safe, so cleanup is minimal. If you struggle with soggy bottoms on your roasted vegetables or unevenly cooked chicken wings, this tray offers a mechanical fix that directly addresses airflow dynamics.
The Instant Pot Vortex Plus ClearCook introduces a distinct advantage in the category: a transparent window integrated into the door. This 6-quart, 6-in-1 appliance allows you to see exactly how your meal is progressing without opening the lid. Opening an air fryer mid-cycle releases a burst of heat, which can extend cooking time and affect texture. With the ClearCook window, you can check for browning or doneness instantly, ensuring you pull your food out at the perfect moment.
This unit is ideal for home cooks who want precision without guesswork. It features six customizable presets that store your favorite settings, making daily use faster once you find your preferred combinations. The EvenCrisp Technology works in tandem with the window feature to ensure that what you see is exactly what you get—crispy exteriors and tender interiors. The capacity handles up to six portions, making it suitable for small families or couples who prepare fresh meals regularly.

However, the clear window is a specific design choice that may appeal more to some than others. While it eliminates the need to open the door, it does require regular cleaning to maintain visibility. The unit also takes up a fair amount of counter space due to its 6-quart footprint. If you are someone who likes to tinker with cooking times and frequently checks on food, this transparency feature saves you from the frustration of constantly lifting the basket and letting steam escape.
For larger households or those who entertain often, the Instant Pot Vortex Plus XL is a powerhouse. This 8-quart model distinguishes itself with dual baskets, a feature that allows you to cook two different dishes at the same time. You can pair a main course with a side dish, or simply double up on a recipe for leftovers. The SyncCook and SyncFinish technologies are game-changers here, allowing both baskets to start and end at the exact same time regardless of the individual cooking durations required for each food type.
I see this as the ultimate solution for busy weeknights where time is tight. Instead of running one batch after another, you can roast chicken in one basket and bake sweet potato fries in the other, finishing everything together. The intuitive touchscreen display guides you through the stages, so you never lose track of what is happening in either compartment. Like its smaller sibling, it utilizes EvenCrisp Technology to achieve deep-fried textures with significantly less oil, supporting healthier eating habits without sacrificing flavor.
The main consideration with this model is its physical size and weight. At 8 quarts, it is a substantial appliance that demands dedicated counter real estate. It is heavier than most competitors, so moving it around for cleaning or storage might be cumbersome. If you have a small kitchen, this might be too large to keep out permanently. But if space allows, the ability to manage multiple components of a meal simultaneously makes it a highly efficient choice for complex dinners.
The Instant Pot 4Qt Mini Air Fryer is designed for efficiency in tight quarters. Despite its compact footprint, it delivers a full 4-quart capacity, which is sufficient for up to four servings. This makes it an excellent option for students, singles, or small families who do not need to feed a crowd but still want the convenience of air frying. The "Mini and Mighty" description fits well here; it saves valuable counter space without forcing you to sacrifice the core functionality of roasting, baking, broiling, dehydrating, or reheating.
One of the standout features in this model is the large ClearCook window paired with a bright internal light. This combination lets you track your food's progress clearly, even in dimly lit kitchens. You no longer have to rely on guesswork or open the door to check if your fries are golden brown. The non-stick basket is dishwasher safe, addressing the common pain point of scrubbing stuck-on food. The 1500-watt power output provides robust performance, ensuring that the small size does not translate to weak heating capabilities.
The trade-off is primarily capacity. If you are cooking for more than four people, you will likely need to run multiple batches, which extends total cooking time. Additionally, while the window is a great feature, the overall build is slightly smaller than the 6 or 8-quart models, which might feel limiting for large cuts of meat or whole chickens. However, for everyday tasks like reheating leftovers, making quick snacks, or preparing simple dinner portions, this unit strikes a balance between size and capability that is hard to beat.
This version of the 4-quart Mini Air Fryer mirrors the Rosewater model in every functional way but swaps the soft pastel hue for a classic black finish. For many shoppers, the color choice is purely aesthetic, and the black model blends seamlessly into modern kitchen designs or matches other black appliances like coffee makers or blenders. The specifications remain identical: 4 quarts of capacity, 1500 watts of power, and the same suite of six cooking functions including air frying, baking, roasting, broiling, dehydrating, and reheating.
The decision to choose this over the colored variant comes down to personal style preference. Both models feature the same ClearCook window and internal lighting, allowing for easy monitoring without heat loss. The non-stick basket and dishwasher-safe components are present in both, ensuring that cleanup remains effortless regardless of the color. The safety features, including overheat protection and auto shutoff, are also consistent, providing peace of mind during operation.
If you are working with a limited budget and the price difference is negligible, choosing the black version might offer a more neutral look that won't clash with future decor changes. It is a straightforward, reliable appliance that prioritizes performance over novelty. For those who already own other black kitchen electronics, this creates a cohesive visual line on the countertop. Otherwise, the user experience is virtually indistinguishable from the Rosewater version, offering the same crisp results and space-saving benefits.
The Instant Pot VORTEX Plus 6QT brings a premium aesthetic to the lineup with its stunning stainless steel finish. This appliance is built for those who want their kitchen tools to serve as a sophisticated part of their countertop decor. Beyond the looks, it offers a wide adjustable temperature range from 95°F to 400°F, giving you precise control for everything from slow dehydration of jerky to high-heat roasting of meats. The one-touch settings simplify operation, making it accessible for users of all skill levels.
With a 6-quart capacity, this model handles up to six portions, making it a versatile choice for families or meal preppers. The EvenCrisp Technology ensures that the stainless steel interior does not interfere with airflow, delivering that desired crunch with minimal oil. The dishwasher-safe basket adds to the convenience factor, reducing post-meal cleanup time significantly. The 1700-watt motor provides ample power to heat up quickly and maintain consistent temperatures throughout the cooking cycle.
The primary trade-off for this model is the lack of the ClearCook window found in other versions, meaning you cannot see inside without opening the door. However, the stainless steel construction offers durability and a sleek look that appeals to many. The interface is user-friendly, showing each cooking stage at a glance on the touchscreen. If you prioritize a professional-grade appearance and broad temperature flexibility over visual monitoring, this model stands out as a robust, reliable option for daily cooking needs.
We compared published specs and features across the entire Instant Pot air fryer lineup to identify the strengths and limitations of each design. No brand paid for placement, and we did not rely on external ratings or sales data to determine our recommendations.
Most models feature non-stick coatings that can be scratched by metal utensils, so it is generally safer to use silicone or wood tools to preserve the basket's surface.
Yes, all listed models include dishwasher-safe baskets and trays, making cleanup significantly easier than hand-washing greasy cookware.
The main difference is capacity; the 4Qt serves up to four people and saves space, while the 6Qt handles up to six portions and often includes higher wattage for faster cooking.
