1. What this policy covers
Instagram™ Video Reels para PC (the "extension") lets you view and interact with Instagram Reels in Chrome's side panel. This policy explains the data used to display videos, provide playback controls, load comments and carry out your interactions with Instagram.
The extension does not send your Instagram data to servers or databases operated by its developer. It has no developer-operated backend for collecting or storing your account information, authentication cookies, videos, comments or activity. It does not include developer analytics, advertising trackers or remote crash reporting.
Some data is processed in your browser, preferences are stored locally, and requests are sent directly to Instagram. Instagram and other services you choose to use have their own data practices, described below.
2. Information the extension accesses and why
Your existing Instagram session
The extension reads Instagram authentication and account cookies to check whether you are signed in and detect account changes. Scripts running within the Instagram page use the account identifiers and request-verification tokens available in that page to make authenticated requests to Instagram. You sign in on Instagram itself; the extension does not provide a separate password form or collect your password.
Authentication cookies and tokens are not copied into the extension's persistent settings or sent to its developer. Instagram cookies remain subject to Instagram's expiry rules and your browser's cookie settings.
Reels and comments
The extension receives video and image URLs, captions, usernames, profile images, media and comment identifiers, comment text, replies, timestamps, counters and interaction states from Instagram. It uses this information to display the feed and comments and identify the content you choose to interact with. Request metadata supplied by Instagram may also be used to complete those interactions.
Feed requests can run automatically while you use the panel, including when additional Reels are needed. Pagination requests include a limited set of recently loaded Reel identifiers. The extension does not create a persistent viewing-history database.
Your interactions
When you submit a comment or reply, its text and the relevant content identifiers are sent directly to Instagram. Likes, comment likes, saves, reposts and their available undo actions are also sent to Instagram when you choose those actions. Instagram associates these requests with your signed-in account and processes them according to its own policies and your account settings.
Browser context and controls
The extension locates open Instagram tabs to connect the panel to your session. It handles mouse, keyboard and playback input within its own interface. It does not read the contents of unrelated websites or collect your general browsing history.
3. Local storage and retention
The extension stores sound, volume, automatic scrolling and tutorial-display preferences in Chrome's local extension storage. These settings remain in your browser profile until changed or removed. The extension does not use Chrome storage sync to upload them.
Temporary panel state is kept in Chrome's session storage. Reels, comments, account state, pagination data, draft text and interaction metadata are also held in memory while the relevant panel or Instagram page is running. Page-level data may remain after the side panel closes and is released when the Instagram page is closed or reloaded. The extension does not intentionally save this content or authentication information in a persistent extension database or file.
Chrome can buffer or cache media and other network resources as part of normal browsing. Instagram can retain cookies, account activity, comments, saved items and reposts on its own systems. For these reasons, using the extension does not mean that no information is stored anywhere.
4. Where information is sent
Instagram and Meta content servers
Requests for the feed, comments and account interactions go directly from your browser to Instagram. Videos, thumbnails and profile images load from Instagram and Meta content-delivery domains, including cdninstagram.com and fbcdn.net. These services receive the information needed to handle their requests, such as your IP address, ordinary browser request information and, where applicable, authentication and action data. The extension does not route these requests through a developer server.
Sharing
If you choose to copy a Reel link, the extension writes that link to your system clipboard. It does not read your clipboard. The link may remain there or in clipboard history according to your device settings. If you use the system share feature, the Reel URL is passed to the sharing destination you select. Opening a Reel or creator profile in Instagram opens the corresponding Instagram page.
Reviews and donations
The review button opens the extension's Chrome Web Store review page. The donation button opens Buy Me a Coffee at https://buymeacoffee.com/devfunny. These pages are opened only when you select the corresponding button. The extension does not attach your Instagram cookies, account details or comment data to these links and does not process payment details. Information you submit on these external pages is handled by those services and, where applicable, made available to the review audience or donation recipient under their own policies.
5. Data use commitments
The extension uses the information it accesses to provide its disclosed Reels viewing and interaction features. It does not sell or rent that information, transfer it to data brokers, use it for personalized advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility. Its developer does not receive or review your Instagram content through the extension.
The extension's use of information accessed through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data transfers are limited to providing the described features and the external destinations you choose.
6. Permissions and security
The storage permission saves local preferences and temporary panel state. The sidePanel permission displays the player and comments beside your current webpage. The scripting permission runs code bundled with the extension within Instagram tabs to retrieve content and carry out supported actions. The cookies permission checks the existing Instagram session and account. Host access is limited to https://www.instagram.com/* for the Instagram integration.
Instagram requests and media connections use HTTPS. The extension uses a defined set of supported commands and restricts extension messages to its own popup and panel. It does not send authentication credentials to its developer. Local preferences rely on the protections of your Chrome profile and device; the extension does not add its own encryption layer to those preferences.
7. Your choices and deleting data
You can change playback preferences from the popup, stop using the panel, disable the extension or uninstall it through Chrome. Uninstalling removes the extension's local settings. To release temporary page data, close or reload the Instagram tabs used by the extension. You can also clear Instagram cookies and cached content through Chrome's browsing-data controls; doing so may sign you out of Instagram.
Removing the extension does not delete comments, likes, saved Reels, reposts or other information already held by Instagram. Manage or delete those items through Instagram's controls. Manage copied links through your clipboard settings and shared content through the service that received it. The developer has no extension backend containing your Instagram data to export or delete.
8. Changes and contact
This policy will be updated when the extension's data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Any required additional disclosures or consent will be provided before introducing data uses that require them.
