In September 2019, Proofpoint researchers observed a prolific threat actor, TA505, sending email campaigns that attempt to deliver and install Get2, a new downloader. Get2 was, in turn, observed downloading FlawedGrace, FlawedAmmyy, Snatch, and SDBbot (a new RAT) as secondary payloads.

These new developments are a continuation of a pattern where, since 2018, Proofpoint researchers observed numerous threat actors increasingly distributing downloaders, backdoors, information stealers, remote access Trojans (RATs), and more as they abandoned ransomware as their primary payloads.

Since September 9, 2019, Proofpoint researchers started observing TA505 using Get2 as their initial downloader (still at the time of this publication). At first, it downloaded traditional payloads including FlawedAmmyy and FlawedGrace. However, on October 7 Proofpoint researchers observed Get2 downloading the new RAT, SDBbot.

Get2 is a new downloader malware written in C++ and used in recent TA505 campaigns. The name is derived from the DLL export name used in the initial sample that was analyzed. Successive campaigns used different export names such as Amway, Hadno, Seven, and Wakeup.

SDBbot is a new remote access Trojan (RAT) written in C++ that has been delivered by the Get2 downloader in recent TA505 campaigns. Its name is derived from the debugging log file (sdb.log.txt) and DLL name (BotDLL[.]dll) used in the initial analyzed sample. It also makes use of application shimming [1] for persistence. SDBbot is composed of three pieces: an installer, a loader, and a RAT component.

Other posts to this forum that address this issue are from three years ago and had no real resolution. I am hoping that Canvas has corrected this problem and that I've simply missed the solution in my searches.

No...you're not missing anything. As I had indicated back in May 2021, this functionality is not possible. I believe the links that I had provided back then still hold true today. Even if functionality in Canvas is not possible, things can still be marked as "Solved". Essentially, it's like marking an answer as "correct" (which we used to be able to do in the old Community platform pre- August 2020) letting people know that a particular feature doesn't exist yet in Canvas. It's not necessarily "solved" in a way that Instructure fixed an issue. The links I had provided back in May to other similar questions all confirm that this functionality does not yet exist. Unfortunately, I am not aware that this platform the Community site runs on has status descriptions of "in discussion" or "in progress" ... at least not in this part of the Community. This particular discussion is located in the Canvas Question Forum. This part of the Community is where people ask questions about Canvas...like how to do "x" or how to do "y". Questions can be marked with one or more "Solutions" ... as sometimes there is more than one way to accomplish the same thing...and so anything marked as a "Solution" is marked with a green border around it underneath the OP (original poster's) question...and this sometimes includes solutions that something, unfortunately, can't be done.

What I think you are really wanting is a way to see if this particular topic could have a status change. And, if you take a look at this particular Feature Idea, it is still marked as "Open"...which means it is open for discussion and star ratings. Hello, I am also look for information on how to download discussion board posts. The aforementioned solution isn't possible now as the Canvas Idea Conversation has been locked. I can't rate it or comment. Do you have another idea for those of us who would find this functionality extremely useful in our teaching?

The[Discussions] Download discussion board posts idea is linked to an Identified Theme, and that's great news. I know that it doesn't provide a timeline for development, but it does signify that the Product Team has evaluated the idea and will consider developing it in the future. However, the Theme itself needs to be voted on and then prioritized first. It may take some time to see the idea become a feature, but it is definitely a possibility. How do I participate with themes?

We are trying to retrieve ALL the posts, with associated comments and images, made to our group in the last year. I've tried using GraphAPI to do this but pagination means I have to get data, then copy the "next" link, and run again. Unfortunately, this means a LOT of work, since there are over 2 million posts to the group.

We identified two methods to deliver the KerrDown downloader to targets. One is using the Microsoft Office Document with a malicious macro and the other is RAR archive which contains a legitimate program with DLL side-loading.
