The text extractor will allow you to extract text from any image. You may upload an image or document (.pdf) and the tool will pull text from the image. Once extracted, you can copy to your clipboard with one click.

I found this because I was never able to get good results with 1.0's Crop Tool, so I built a new workflow around selecting what I don't want, inverting the selection, copying, and then creating a new document from the clipboard. Finding the copy process all busted today was quite a nasty shock!

You'll need at least iOS 16 on your iPhone to pull this off, or iOS 17 if you want to turn a subject into a sticker. However, what's great is that even though it's an expansion of Apple's Visual Look Up feature that lets you get more information about things like pets and flowers (and now even food and laundry labels in iOS 17), it doesn't just work with those objects. Your iPhone can pick out nearly any distinct subject from a photo, from people and animals to household appliances and coffee cups. What's more, the photos don't even have to be taken with your iPhone; you can lift the subject from nearly any image in your photo library, even screenshots from your favorite TV shows and games or even old black and white photos you scanned into your photo library years ago.

The most straightforward way to use this feature is to copy the subject of a photo onto your system clipboard. You can paste that into any other app that supports images, such as Messages, Mail, Notes, or your favorite photo editor.

It's also possible to copy the subject of an image by dragging it from the Photos app into a third-party app that supports drag-and-drop. This works with most built-in apps like Mail, Messages, Notes, and Reminders. It's also convenient when working with third-party photo editors.

What happens next will depend on the app. Photo editors will usually add the subject image as a new layer that you can move, resize, and edit in the same manner as any other image. Dropping the image into a messaging or social media app will paste it into a new post. If the target app doesn't support pasting images, nothing will happen, and the subject will be discarded.

A fun new feature in iOS 17 lets you create your own iMessage stickers from your photos. The same method for copying and sharing a subject can now be used to turn it into a sticker directly from your Photos app. Here's how.

As you can guess, my entire life is pretty much accessible on my iPhone. Not just photos and messages, but also all of the apps I use daily. And while there's no shortage of great iPhone apps, but these are the ones I couldn't live without in 2023.

When I attempt to cut out or make a copy of a selection from a pixel layer, the selection is ignored and the entire layer gets copied/cut. The problem persists with all selection tools and with both keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+x, ctrl+c, ctrl+v) and clicking on the "Cut"/"Copy" and "Paste" options from the File menu. The problem is present in Photo as well as in Designer's pixel persona. The only workaround is to copy the layer, make the selection, invert the selection and erase the parts that are not needed. Very frustrating. Is there any way to fix this?

I cannot copy and paste camera uploads into a picture file on my computer. I used to take my camera uploads and put them in picture files to save space on my iPhone and organize my photos. Now, I cannot copy multiple pictures and paste them, there is no option. They only allow me to move them into a different Dropbox file.

When I use drop box on my desktop. (Windows 10). Up until recently, (before they the changes), I could go into my camera uploads, could copy one or multiple photos and then just paste them into a picture file or any location on my computer. Now there is no option or ability to cut, copy, and paste the photos in the camera uploads and simply cut and paste them. It only allows certain commands when you click the photo, like move, but only to another drop box file location. It makes no sense, it always was able to do this, as drop box will not allow this and is blocking you from doing this. It is a waste since I cannot store and organize my camera uploads in separate picture files as I have always used. Maybe I am missing something, but try to do this with the camera uploads and you can't do this basic command.

Right-clicking on the file produces a drop-down menu, where copy / cut / paste options went missing today - when I right-click on a subdirectory in this very same directory the dropdown menu includes those commands as it always had (also for files) ...

found the 'problem cause & solution' - dropdown menu got too big and copy / cut / paste options were inaccessible on my notebook screen ... using 4K monitor gets me the whole list of menu options ... actually there is a very very small black arrow (hard to see) at the bottom left corner of the dropdown menu, where you can list additional options that are off the screen ...

I used to be able to take my pictures in dropbox camera uploads (set automatically to download from my iPhone) and place them in individual files and store them on my desktop. It was a straightforward way to get my iPhone pictures to my desktop and organize them in individual folders in pictures. This cannot be done, they removed cut, copy, paste commands which removes one big functionality. I determined that if you use file explorer in Windows, you can select camera uploads and use all the functions. Makes no sense to me, but I can at least move the pictures wherever I want.

I just updated my LrC to v 12.4 this morning and now when I try to copy/paste settings in the develop tab to a new photo, the new photo is hazed out and flat looking. If I reset the settings and put them in manually, it looks correct, so it has to be an issue with the copy/paste. Please help this is slowing down my work flow tremendously.

Hi, In LrC 12.4, the 'Curve' settings in the copy/create preset/synchronise dialog box is not selected by default. Please select the checkbox to include Tone curve settings. This will be a one-time thing, once you select the 'Curve' checkbox, it will stay selected till you uncheck it manually. We will fix this bug. Thanks for reporting this issue.

So I have to click the preset one by one to every photo before pasting the settings, which is so troublesome and unnecessary. Before when I was using older version LRC, I can easily copy and paste settings (with preset applied together).

Is this a new version bug? Please help!!

I've tried to Reset Preferences couple times but it doens't work..

I have the same issue on my Windows Computer.

So this seems to be a bug which is very annoying when i have to develop a lot of pictures and i am not possible to copy the settings to another picture!

I have made some presets for my photography and used them for a long time. I then sync the preset image to the original photos in my gallery and can choose which ones to keep. (They all look uniform with the same color settings.) For some reason, now when I use a preset on an image and go to sync the gallery, the synced images have a weird "fog" or filtered look over them and it doesn't match the preset image. The lighting on the images doesn't vary. Any ideas to help? I have updated the app, reimported the photos, etc. Help!

Just updated my LR Classic, when i pick my preset, adjust it to how i want and then sync it to other photos that i want it to look the same, it doesnt.. it gives me this way lighter option less contrast look and even when i try to adjust it, it wont be the same how i want it. I dont know what to do. help!

When I try to sync my photos, the first photo looks fine and has it edited exactly how I want it to be, but the rest of the photos have a weird fog/haze over them and looks nothing like how I originally edited the first photo. I've tried resetting my preferences, reuploading the photos, resetting my laptop, but nothing has worked. Help!

If they select Copy Image then the image is placed into the clipboard. There is no link to paste. Pasting an image uploads it to Discourse and we turn that into markup that tells the server what to load.

Please! Make it "EASY" to copy paste/or slide photo from internet or computer with ability to scale them WITHOUT ADDING THEM MANUALLY AS "DRAFTING TOOL" which would mean I have to save all photos manually into computer folder first, and then manually add them into archicad. When I copy paste photo as now without doing it through drafting tool it does not scale balanced although "keep proportions" is turned on...., means it will resize but not scale properly, so it end up uneven. While if I put the same photo through drafting tool, I can scale it properly with correct proportions. (great - except, WHY IT HAS TO BE THIS DIFFICULT?) I want be fast and not waste my time over this BS interfere..Archicad recognize JPEG (or other photo file) so why to do it manually? Why at least the "keep proportions" tool does not work? (Honestly, the same with other goes with other 3d files, why can't I just slide in the archicad instead I have to do XY (I don't need to input any setting prior so I just don't get it). But one thing at the time, the photos please? I mean seriously, I can't scale anything or additionally change photo without adding it manually at first through the drafting tool. I use this for schedules means I need all finishes, furniture, appliances etc photos... I copy paste It from internet .

I explained what Is not working.YES I can copy paste it but. I can't scale or edit same way I would be if I am adding images through drafting tool, not sure why it is so limited). The biggest issue is I can't scale it properly by mouse (see. added printscreen). It will scale if I add numbers manually .... but not if I do it with mouse... Maybe I must be doing something wrong

Make sure you have the snap guides turned on. After you pasted the image, select it and click on the corner node and stretch it out along the snap guide line ( blue dash line) that should appear diagonally outside the image and press & hold shift key to constrain your cursor direction to the guide line. Your image will be scaled proportionally. 2351a5e196
