# Privacy Policy for Inspect Saver

Inspect Saver is a browser extension that lets you click on text or images on a webpage and edit them, with your edits saved so they reappear the next time you visit that page.
## What data we collect
Inspect Saver does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any user data. There are no servers involved — the extension has no backend and does not communicate with Anthropic, the developer, or any third party.
The only data the extension stores is:
- **The edits you make** (replacement text and replacement images, including GIFs) to webpages you choose to edit.
- This data is saved locally on your device using the browser's built-in `chrome.storage.local` API, associated with the URL of the page you edited.
This locally stored data may include content of the webpage you are editing (for example, if you choose to edit a page that displays financial or personal information, your edited version of that content is stored locally as part of your edit).
## How your data is used
Saved edits are used for one purpose only: to automatically reapply your changes when you revisit or refresh a page you've previously edited. Nothing is analyzed, profiled, or used for advertising.
## Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, transfer, or share any data with third parties. All data stays on your device, in your browser's local storage, and is never sent over the network.
## Data retention and deletion
Saved edits remain in your browser's local storage until you either:
- Use the "Clear Saved Edits" button (for a single page), or
- Use the "Clear All Edits" button (for every page), or
- Uninstall the extension, or
- Manually clear your browser's extension storage.
## Permissions
- **storage / unlimitedStorage**: used solely to save your edits locally so they persist across page reloads.
- **Host permission (all sites)**: required so the extension can offer editing on any page you choose to use it on. The extension only reads and modifies the DOM of the page you are actively viewing; it does not monitor browsing activity or transmit page data elsewhere.
## Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
