putting finishing touches on her
first short film in two years.

Britny, you’re an acclaimed student filmmaker from Los Angeles - and word on the street is that you have a short film on the way, correct?
Yeah, the film is called Dear Perfect Boyfriend. I filmed it in May 2021 featuring some of my friends, Annabelle Monro as Lauren, Parker Lowrie as Aiden, and Mickey Danza as Chris.
What’s the film about and what inspired it?
Dear Perfect Boyfriend is your classic story about two best friends, Lauren and Aiden, but Aiden is stuck in the friend zone. He finds these letters that Lauren has written about her past relationships, and his only way out is to use them to become the perfect guy for her. What inspired me to make this film was actually a book I was writing called Wishing You All the Best (which was essentially the same story). Since I was going to film school, I wanted to get some more experience, so I called a couple friends and decided to change this book into a screenplay, and I really enjoyed working on it. Some other people who worked as crew with me were Destiny Cloud as assistant director, Carmen DeChaine as 1st AC [first assistant camera], and Camryn Wise as an extra helper and COVID safety adviser.
How did you get into filmmaking?
Growing up, I always filmed my childhood best friend and I doing skits and short films, then from there I got into photography. From there, I did photoshoots and headshots for my friends and sister, and it sort of just just evolved into film as I made more short films and writing features and series.
Does the film have a release date yet? Where can we see it when it comes out?
Not currently, but I’m striving for June 2022 on a soon-to-be-made YouTube channel that I’ve been wanting to make to post Dear Perfect Boyfriend and all my other short films.
