About Me
Hello I'm Dagem Berhanu
I’m a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student. Throughout my academic journey, I gained skills ranging from CAD modeling and some of thermodynamics and material science concepts. This portfolio showcases my work, highlighting both individual contributions and collaborative efforts.
Timeline
Week 1
Group Formation
I met my project teammates, and we quickly bonded, sharing our backgrounds and skills. Together, we discussed the project's goals, brainstormed ideas, and began outlining our approach. By the end of the week, we had formed a strong sense of collaboration and excitement for the work ahead.
Week 2
Advisor Meeting
We met with our advisor, who briefed us on the project's scope, expectations, and key deliverables. They provided valuable insights into the objectives and outlined the steps we need to take to succeed. The meeting set a clear direction for our work, and we left with a better understanding of our roles and the project’s goals.
Week 3
Selection of Project Ideas
As a group, we each proposed individual project ideas, sharing our thoughts and perspectives. After discussing the options, we narrowed it down to three ideas through a majority vote. These top ideas were then presented to our advisor for final selection, ensuring we chose the most promising direction for our project.
Week 4
Project Planning
We talked about our project plan and how each of us are going to be included in this project with our Advisor.
Week 5
Project Proposal
We finalized and submitted our project proposal, outlining our goals and approach. Afterward, we selected a model for the station, carefully considering its functionality and alignment with the project’s objectives. This decision set the foundation for our next steps as we moved forward with the project development.
Week 6
Advisor's Feedback
Our advisor gave us feedback on the project proposal we submitted, highlighting areas for improvement and offering suggestions for adjustments we should consider.
Week 7
Listing of Materials
We discussed about a list of all the materials required for our project. We went over each item, explaining its necessity and the quantity that will most probably will be needed. Additionally, we discussed how we would identify suppliers and acquire the materials.
Week 8
Working on the Project
After purchasing some of the necessary materials, we started building our project. After making significant progress, we then submitted our progress to our advisor, showcasing what we had accomplished so far.
Week 9
Discussing with our Advisor
We once again meet with our advisor and discussed on how the progress of the project was going on and we continued to work on our project.
Week 10
Finalizing our Project
we have assembled and finalized our project and also members' 3 minute video was recorded for the upcoming demonstration and evaluation of our advisor.
Week 11
Advisor Evaluation
Our advisor evaluates our prototype and gave us some ideas on the evaluation.
Week 12
Evaluation Day
We prepared for the poster evaluation, prototype demonstration, Group and individual presentations and also for the upcoming Final report submission and innovation exhibition.
