InnerShield respects your right to control your personal data. In compliance with Apple App Store guidelines and data protection regulations, we provide clear options for users who wish to delete their account and associated data.
Open the InnerShield app
Go to Settings → Account Management
Tap "Delete My Account"
Review the information about what will be deleted
Confirm by tapping "Permanently Delete Account"
Your account will be deleted immediately
If you cannot access the app or prefer to email us:
Send an email to: support@innershield.com
Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
Include in your email:
The email address associated with your InnerShield account
Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account
Your reason for deletion (optional, helps us improve)
Response time: We will process email requests within 3 business days and send you a confirmation email once complete.

✅ All anxiety episode logs and tracking data
✅ Personal notes and journal entries
✅ App preferences and settings
✅ Emergency contact information
✅ Daily reminders and personalized content
✅ Usage analytics tied to your account
Anonymized usage statistics for app improvement (no personal identifiers)
Customer support communications (for legal compliance, if any)
Subscription transaction records (maintained by Apple/Google for their records)
⚠️ This action is PERMANENT and CANNOT be undone
All your anxiety tracking data will be lost forever
You will lose access to your progress history
Emergency contacts stored in the app will be deleted
Custom preferences and settings will be reset
Account deletion does NOT automatically cancel your subscription
You must separately cancel your subscription through:
iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → InnerShield → Cancel
Android: Google Play Store → Account → Subscriptions → InnerShield → Cancel
Failure to cancel subscription separately may result in continued charges
Before deleting, you can export your data:
Go to Settings → Export My Data
Choose format (JSON or CSV)
Data will be emailed to your account email
This includes all your anxiety logs, notes, and tracking history
Account access terminated immediately
App data cleared from your device
Server data deletion begins immediately
Personal data: Deleted within 24 hours
Backup systems: Purged within 30 days
Analytics systems: Anonymized within 7 days
You will receive an email confirmation when deletion is complete, typically within 24 hours.
You cannot recover a deleted account
You can create a new account with the same email address
All previous data will be permanently lost
You will start fresh with no history
You can re-download InnerShield and create a new account
Previous subscription history won't carry over
Free trial eligibility depends on App Store policies
Parent/guardian consent may be required for deletion

In rare cases, we may be legally required to retain certain data for:
Tax or financial reporting (subscription records)
Legal proceedings or investigations
Regulatory compliance requirements
We will inform you if any data must be retained and for how long.
If you're unsure about permanent deletion, consider:
Canceling your subscription (keeps data but stops billing)
Uninstalling the app (data remains recoverable)
