【The Obituary of Xin(Cindy)Wang】

Xin (Cindy) Wang was born as 王新 in Jilin City in the Jilin Province of China in 1970, as the youngest of three. A notoriously good student, Xin attended Jilin No.18 Middle School and later went on to study at the prestigious Beijing Medical University (now Peking University Medical College) in 1988, where she first met her husband Haiying. After obtaining her Medical Degree in 1993, she worked as an OBGYN doctor in the Peking University Third Hospital. In 1994, Xin immigrated to the U.S. to join her husband in Houston, where she enrolled in the University of Houston and obtained an M.S. in Computer Science. Xin and her husband eventually moved to Central Jersey where she found employment at Dow Jones/Factiva, and in the following year of 1999, Xin was baptized as a Christian. That same winter, the couple welcomed their daughter Keri into the world, completing their little family.

In the following years, Xin took up yoga, becoming a Certified Integral Yoga Instructor. She further developed and pursued this passion for holistic health by spending her weekends attending the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she graduated summa cum laude and obtained an M.S. in Acupuncture and Health Science in 2014.

Xin was an enthusiastic scholar and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She became an NCCAOM Board Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture, Dipl. Ac., and New Jersey State Licensed Acupuncturist, L.Ac.; in 2015 she started her very own clinic — Better Health Acupuncture — which quickly began to flourish. However, the young clinic was nipped in the bud when in September 2016, her health started to decline and she received a sudden diagnosis of Stage IV ovarian cancer. Xin would spend the next five years battling this illness and its many complications. Yet, in spite of it all, she was able to enjoy these past five years tremendously — all thanks to the constant support and care from her church, relatives, and friends. In fact, this forced retirement gave Xin the opportunity to fall in love with Tai Chi, photography, nature, and the simple pleasures of living in ways she hadn't been able to before. Finally, on the 2nd of October in Princeton, NJ, Xin Wang passed away at age 51 in the comfort of the home she cherished, with her loved ones near. She is predeceased by her father and survived by her mother, two brothers, husband, and daughter.
