Privacy Policy for InkDash
Last updated: 22 September 2026
InkDash ("the app") is developed by Ricardo H. Nakayama
This policy explains how the app handles your information.
Summary
InkDash turns your iPhone into a dashboard server for a compatible e-ink reader on your local network. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
What stays on your iPhone
Your dashboard layout, any photos you add to photo widgets, and the identifier and access token for each reader you pair.
All of it is stored on the device. InkDash has no server of its own, so none of it is sent to us.
Calendar and Reminders
If you add a calendar or reminders widget, InkDash reads your upcoming events and unfinished reminders to draw them.
This happens on your iPhone. The result is drawn into the picture sent to your own reader over your local network, and is never transmitted anywhere else. You can refuse or revoke this access in iOS Settings and the rest of the app keeps working.
Location and weather
If you add a weather or forecast widget, InkDash asks iOS for your location once per refresh at coarse accuracy — roughly kilometre level, not your precise position. Those approximate coordinates are sent to the Open-Meteo weather service to fetch the forecast. No name, account, device identifier or advertising identifier accompanies that request, and Open-Meteo requires no API key.
Open-Meteo's terms: https://open-meteo.com/en/terms
This is the only information InkDash sends to any third party. Remove the weather widgets and nothing leaves your phone.
Your local network
InkDash runs a small web server on your Wi-Fi so your reader can fetch its dashboard.
Only devices on the same network can reach it, a reader must be approved by you before it is served, and nothing is exposed to the internet.
Data sharing and sale
InkDash does not sell, rent or share your information. There are no third-party SDKs, no analytics, and no advertising.
Children
InkDash collects no personal information and is suitable for all ages.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
