Hail Mary Mallon - Bestiary (2014) - Album Review

Hail Mary Mallon is a hip hop trio consisting of Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, and DJ Big Wiz. Their name is a reference to Mary Mallon, also known as Typhoid Mary, the first person in the United States identified as an asymptomatic carrier of typhoid fever. The group released their debut album, Are You Gonna Eat That?, in 2011, and followed it up with their second and final album, Bestiary, in 2014.

Bestiary is a 14-track album that showcases the group's witty wordplay, clever metaphors, and diverse production. The album's title refers to a medieval book that contains descriptions and illustrations of various animals, both real and mythical. The album's cover art features a collage of animal heads on human bodies, representing the group's beastly skills and quirky personalities.
