Interaction between active matter and a soft boundary

This is an attempt to understand biology from a physicist's persperctive. We have choosen to work with mutated bacteria derived from E.Coli along with giant unilamellar vesicle. E.Coli are modelled as pusher active matter ingrediant. Giant vesicles are a minimal reliazation of a biological cell. There is rich physics avavilable for both the systems. Together this phenomenon can be studied using techniques in non-equilibrium statistatical mechanics. We also hope to develop some tools for synthetic biology experiments. There are some state-of-the-art industrial applications of this field.
