Title: Design of a Portable Analog Correlator for Radio Interferometry
Â
In this poster, we present design details of a hardware correlator backend receiver developed for a Radio Astronomy interferometry application, mainly to observe strong radio signals such as from the Sun. This correlator operates across a band of radio frequencies around 200 MHz. We show main functional blocks involved in the design which consist of analog filters (band pass filters), a frequency mixer, a passive integrator, and an microcontroller based ADC for recording correlation data, and monitoring purposes. We also present the current status of the work and the future plan.
