Welcome to my portfolio! I am a highly motivated civil engineering graduate student currently pursuing a PhD in Civil Engineering. My research interests lie in the area of seismic design and earthquake engineering. I am particularly interested in exploring the use of advanced materials and technologies to enhance the performance of structures during seismic events. My previous research projects have focused on seismic design of reinforced concrete structures, structural health monitoring, and non-destructive testing.
In addition to my research experience, I have also gained practical experience through internships with leading civil engineering firms. I am a currently pursuing Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology in Gorakhpur. While I am in College, I am also working as a free lance graphic designer and Teaching Assistant, and have had a wide range of summer work in order to broaden my experience and interests. My goal is to work in a field that I would call " seismic design & earthquake engineering", which would focus on taking sustainability one step further by supporting Innovative practices. I am also spending my spare time developing my personality by focusing on emotional intelligence, business management strategies and taking courses in social skills and leadership. NUMERICAL SIMULATION FOR SEISMIC RESPONSE OF SOIL- FOUNDATION-STRUCTURE INTERACTION ON SEISMIC DESIGN OF HIGH-RISE RC BUILDINGย

This thesis, efforts to present a simplistic approach for estimating the effects of soil- foundation-structure-interaction (SFSI) for high-rise buildings constructed over different foundation conditions later, to simulate the dynamic response of buildings comparatively with the fixed base condition. In this project, a non-linear time history and response spectrum analysis was carried out using computer code SAP2000 while considering the soil-foundation flexibility to examine the variation in spectral acceleration (SA), spectral displacement (SD), story displacement, story drift, base shear obtained according to the seismic regulation in the Indian standard code. Various foundations consistently compared and discussed with respect to fixed base founded structure to amplify effects on seismic performance of high-rise building. The study illustrates that the value of base shear and story displacement is increased with a significant increase in stiffness of superstructure and soil flexibility. It additionally founded that the spectral displacement (SD) and spectral acceleration (SA) are a better trend in the flexible base model with an isolated foundation on medium soil, which offers us evidence that spectral responses of a structure are related to soil condition and foundation types. It is all over that, contrary to common beliefs, SFSI is relevant for tall buildings resting on medium soil.

SEISMIC RESPONSE EVALUATION OF MULTI-STORIED REINFORCED CONCRETE BUILDING WITH AND WITHOUT FLUID VISCOUS DAMPERย

Many different supplemental energy dissipating devices have been proposed to assist in mitigating adverse effects of earthquake on structures Significantly In the design of Earthquake of Resistant Structure, Damping plays an important role in that. At some extent it minimizes the response of the structure when it subjected to some lateral excitation. There are various types of dampers are available that are in use. This report presents the study of Fluid Viscous damper FVD that used to evaluate the response of Reinforced concrete buildings. The Prime objective of the structure to resist the lateral excitation and transfer it well to the foundation. Since the horizontal force are dynamic in nature well, they are imposed on the structure which results in the vibration. In order to achieve earthquake resistant structure fluid viscous damper has been used. Building with Square column & rectangular beams with & without Fluid viscous Damper FVD250. While Model is analyzed with the help of E-tab 2018 Software. Using Response Spectrum Analysis. It has been observed that building with Fluid Viscous damper FVD250 is performing well at some extent when it subjected to some lateral forces. Which results in the Decrease of maximum stories displacement, hence moving towards the conclusive part it is better to use fluid viscous damper FVD to reducing the response of reinforced concrete building.

EFFECTIVE UTILIZATION OF WASTE PLASTIC WITH PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF BITUMEN IN FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT

Bituminous Concrete (BC) is a composite material mostly used in construction projects like road surfacing, airports, parking lots etc. It consists of asphalt or bitumen (used as a binder) and mineral aggregate which are mixed together & laid down in layers then compacted. Disposal of waste materialsย including wasteย plastic bags has become a serious problem and waste plastics are burnt for apparent disposal whichย causeย environmental pollution. Utilization of waste plastic bags in bituminous mixesย Has proved that these enhance the properties ofย mix in addition to solving Disposalย problems. Plasticย wasteย which is cleaned is cut into a size such that it Passes through 2-3mm sieve using shreddingย machine. The aggregate mix is Heated and the plastic is effectively coated over the aggregate. This plastic Waste coated aggregate is mixed with hot bitumen and the resulted mix is used For road construction. The use of the innovative technology will not only Strengthen the road construction but also increase the road life as well as will Help to improve the environment. Plastic roads would be a boon for Indiaโs hot And extremely humid climate, where temperatures frequently cross 50ยฐC and Torrential rains create havoc, leaving most of the roads with big potholes. In my Research work I have done a thorough study on the methodology of using plastic Waste in bituminous mixes and presented the various tests performed on Aggregates and bitumen.
This project presents a research conducted to study the behavior ofย BCย mix modified withย waste polythene.
Various percentages of polythene are used for preparation of mixes with a selected aggregate grading as given in the IRC Code. The role of polythene in the mix is studied for various engineering properties by preparing Marshall Samples of BC mixtures with and without polymer. Marshall Properties such as stability, flow value, unit weight, air Voids are used to determine optimum polythene content for the given grade of bitumen (80/100).

DESIGN & ESTIMATION OF TYPE 3 BUILDINGย

Any construction project to begin with starts with the Layout of the building or structure followed by Design and Analysis of the structure which is succeeded by cost estimation and planning for the said project. This project involves the layout, design, analysis, planning and cost estimation of a G+4 residential building located in Gorakhpur, U.P. The layout of the proposed G+4 residential building is based on a plot of size 150โ x 90 โ.Previously the plot was being used as a commercial complex, but according to the new plan it will be used as a multistoried residential building. The ground floor of the building will be used as parking while the remainsย 4 floors will be divided into 8 apartments each having an area of 246sq m. Each apartment is of 3BHK configuration. All the drafting was done using AutoCAD. Also these drawings made on AutoCAD also served as a base for transfer of the structure for analysis and design into STAAD Pro. The analysis and design of the entire structure has been completed using STAAD pro. The results include the various forces acting on various members as well various schedules for various members. Also using the software we got the concrete take-off as well as the weight of the various reinforcement bars thus easing the load of cost estimation. The foundation has been designed as an isolated footing using soil condition as medium. The foundation design values were calculated using STAAD Foundation. Primavera P6 has been used for planning the various activities that surround the construction of a building. Using primavera we were able to formulate a working schedule and also a progress bar for constant monitoring of the project. Using primavera we were able to assign various resources as well as responsibilities on various people related to the various stages of the project there by increasing accountability. The duration of the project using primavera has been calculated to be around 374 days which also includes holidays. The progress and the relationship between various activities has also been shown in the form of an animated Gantt Chart. This chart also helps the Project manager to explain to his clients the various aspects as well as progress of the project. The cost estimate for the project has been calculated using Centre Line Method in Microsoft Excel. For the Abstract cost CPWD Schedule of rates has been followed and a total cost of Rs 9517974 has been calculated.
