Using generative design, redesign an existing product to be manufactured using a 2D Cutting process (plasma/laser/waterjet/etc.)

• Think simple designs - wrenches, sprockets, gears, etc. - made of single-components (not assemblies!)

• Once your new design is generated and finalized, program and cut out your product with a 2D Cutting system (Plasma/Laser/Waterjet/Router)

• Test & analyze the characteristics & performance of your generatively-designed product, compared to that of the original, traditionally-manufactured product

• Summarize and present your findings, lessons learned, etc.
