For this Challenge, you may do one of three things:
Thought Experiment
Think of a use case for Manufacturing Simplification using Generative Design and perform research, testing, experimentation, etc. to flush-out and justify your planned use case. Include things like:
What would be the measurable benefit/improvement of utilizing Generative Design for your proposed application?
Benefit can be in the form of product performance (weight/strength/etc.), design acceleration, manufacturing/process performance, etc.
Case Study
Research and analyze an existing application of Manufacturing Simplification using Generative Design. Include things like:
What was intended to be accomplished at the outset of the project? Did they achieve, exceed, or all short of their original goals/objectives?
What did you agree/disagree with about the specific application of Generative Design?
What aspects of their generative solution could be improved, either from the perspective of product performance, manufacturing efficiency, cost, etc.?
Product Design/Manufacture
Design & manufacture a product that demonstrates the application of Generative Design for Manufacturing Simplification. Include things like:
What was the original product(s)? What manufacturing process(es) were used to create it?
What is your newly-proposed design, and how did you create it?
How does your generatively-designed solution compare to the original design?
