Continuing the Spinning Top from the previous Challenge...
Setup, operate, & run the part/program programmed in the previous module
As needed, adjust speed/feed overrides to achieve ideal surface finish & operation of part. Recommend testing multiple speeds & feeds per toolpath (adjust in between passes)
Inspect the dimensions of your part to tolerance, and adjust as needed using tool wear compensation (if part oversized)
If part dimensions under tolerance(s), problem solve to determine the root cause & work with instructor to solve problem for next part(s)
The end result of this should be a fully corrected program that is ready to run at 100% Speed/Feed Override, part after part for production
Following your setup sheet, load & run your program to manufacture a spinning top
Before running the program, perform a graphics run and a dry run to test for program alarms and potential setup issues
Run your first part (use 5% Rapids!), stopping as needed between passes to examine cut quality, and adjust feed/speed overrides
Once done, upload documentation of your progress (text/pictures/gifs/videos) to your previously-created "Spinning Top" project page on your portfolio website, including:
Documentation of all the toolpaths you created for Op1 (ex: screenshot)
Visual of your Toolpaths being simulated (example shown at right)
Descriptions/summaries of what you did/learned
