Utilize CAD software to design a Spinning Top to be manufactured using only a 2-Axis Turning machine, in a single operation/setup
Top is made from a piece of 15-3-3-3 Stainless Steel round bar, with the stock dimensions being 1.5" Diameter and no more than 3.0" Long (plus clearance for workholding)
All features of the top must be made exclusively on a 2-Axis CNC Lathe, in a single operation (no additional work performed after cycle is complete) - remember 2-Axis DFM!
Hint: Sketch & Revolve!
Once your CAD model is created, make a technical drawing (blueprint) for the model to guide manufacturing/inspection to needed dimensions/tolerances
Once done, create a "Spinning Top" Project page on your portfolio website, and upload documentation of your progress (text/pictures/gifs/videos/etc.), including:
Different views of your CAD model showing all design features
Visual of your design process (example shown at right)
Descriptions/summaries of what you did/learned
