For this challenge, you will complete the hands-on testing portion of the Haas Basic Lathe Operator Certificate. To do so:

• You must have already completed all online videos/quizzes – you must score 100% on each quiz

  • Note: You should already have this done, from  the previous module

• Set-up and run a pre-programmed part on a 2-Axis CNC Lathe (program provided below)

  • Program to Run: "O77501 (Haas BLO Test - TTS Blank).nc"

  • Ensure proper tool/work offsets and setup

  • Perform Graphics Run and Dry Run of program before cutting part

  • Run program, and adjust feed/speed overrides as needed to achieve optimal surface finish, chip control, etc.

  • Iterate as needed until program is understood/optimized

  • Document any/all improvements to be made by part programmer/engineer/etc.

Show proof of your completed part that you set-up and ran from this module to your instructor

• Your instructor may ask additional questions to further validate your knowledge/competency

• Your instructor will then forward confirmation of your competency to Haas to certify you
