The objective of this challenge is to determine Minimum Viable Everything (MVX) - systems, processes, fixturing, and/or workflows - related to the following scenario:
You are an entrepreneur who has just successfully been awarded a $100,000.00 contract to manufacture one million (1,000,000) 6-sided Dice (exact same as part from previous exercises), starting with zero existing equipment or setup
Ignore shipping/delivery time/cost considerations, as well as raw material costs - assume these are accounted and provided for in the contract
Assume the packaging for these products are simple boxes, each of which hold 1,000 dice loosely arranged
Explore the following considerations, and document your ideas/results:
Define your production workflow and each step within it (from raw material to finished product, in your customer's hands)?
What is the minimum viable system(s) needed to produce these products?
How many days to complete the order? How many products made per day?
What fixturing do you use to make your products?
Clearly define the 8-step cycle of fixturing for the operation(s) within your manufacturing process
What would your total net profit be from the contract, minus all costs, such as:
System(s) needed to manufacture the product
Labor hour costs for yourself (no hiring allowed), assuming ≥ minimum wage
Any/all additional costs
