For this Challenge you will be completing the hands-on portion of the Haas Basic Mill Operator certificate training. To do so, you will set-up and run multiple operations for a part on a CNC Mill, according to provided setup sheet and technical drawing. Setup will include:
Proper loading of tools into toolholders
Proper loading of tool assemblies into the CNC Mill
Proper assignment of Tool Offset(s)
Proper loading of workholding device(s) into the CNC Mill
Proper loading of parts into workholding device(s)
Proper location of Work Offset(s)
Following successful setup, notify your instuctor, at which point your work will be inspected. If all looks good, you will be given the program to run your part, after which you will run the machine, including:
Proper Graphics Run program verification
Proper Dry Run setup verification
Proper safe operation techniques
Proper in-process inspection of parts during machining (without removing parts)
Proper unloading and reloading of parts for secondary operations
Proper post-machining operations (clean/deburr/inspect)
