Recently James shared some key ideas for creating professional quality storyboards, comic, illustration and animation... basically, anything narrative. I thought I would share them here in a very short report.

five tips for visual storytelling

Don’t pick shots based on how cool they are first. Pick shots based on how well they tell the story (then push the shots after you’ve figured out the general storytelling).
Really try to find the character in the scene. Overacted or underplayed, find what is right for the feeling you are trying to convey in your shot.
Try to not just translate the topic in cliché and obvious manner. Try to interpret and push yourself to create something fresh—think outside the box.
The progression of time and narration needs to be evident at ll times
you will have to be familiar and comfortable with composing and handling the acting of shots with multiple characters in them.
