Prep Smart. Filter Fast. Get Hired.
Imagine a tool that transforms any job description into a tailored, structured interview roadmap, complete with role-specific questions, selectable difficulty levels, and time-zone matching for mock interviews.
As a product designer preparing for interviews, I was frustrated by generic question lists and unfocused prep. I asked myself:
“What if interview readiness was as structured and customizable as daily to-dos?”
Driven by this pain, I built Interview Kit. It converts any job description into a personalized prep guide, empowering users to focus on what matters most.
💡 Building the MVP: Minimal. Useful. Scalable
MVP Goals:
Accept a job description from any source.
Provide smartly curated interview questions.
Enable filters by role, complexity, location and time zone.
How it unfolds:
Input Stage: Paste job details and select your role, location and time zone.
Generation Stage: The tool applies filters and produces a structured question set.
Output Stage: Exportable prep plan that’s both thoughtful and actionable.
🧠 My Product & Entrepreneurial Mindset in Action
This project is more than code, it’s a reflection of how I think and build:
Empathy First: It's designed by someone who’s faced wasted prep time just like users will.
Problem-Solution Fit: A direct fix to a user problem, not a feature for its own sake.
Accelerated Iteration: Built, tested, and deployed in days using real-world feedback loops.
Scalable Architecture: Simple GitHub front end today, API-powered ecosystem tomorrow.
I chose GitHub Pages for this project keeping development lean, fast, and free, while delivering delivery-ready utility.

💭 Lessons Learned
Clarity > Completeness: Going deep with one filter set is more actionable than superficial breadth.
Simplicity Wins: Users want guidance not complexity.
No-Bloat Better: As a job-seeker, I appreciate minimal UI that keeps distraction at bay.
Live Testing = Insights: Deploying it publicly surfaced refinements far faster than internal mockups alone.
