THE TEACHER
Indira Jammula
Indira Jammula
Indira is a self-taught artist and art mentor whose creative journey began as a personal path of self-discovery. She has learned from artists across the world, studying watercolour, portrait painting, oil painting and landscapes, while also exploring Indian traditional forms such as Pichwai and Tanjore. She works across all mediums and takes on commission paintings in landscapes, florals, portraits and animals.
She has been teaching art at Kalpavriksha Yuva Kala Kendra for the past two years, working with 20+ students regularly and 40 during a summer camp, with a teaching practice going back to 2018 and earlier. She also teaches one-on-one at her home studio in Tarnaka — for children learning their first skills, and women picking up a brush for the first time.
