This seminar took place in October and November 2022, at the GCAS Art Department. In its description, the seminar invited participants to explore, during its four sessions, the “transformation of the artistic practices by de-industrialization and how to create personal/collective alternatives beside the current contradictions of that global phenomenon.”
Throughout the seminar sessions, artistic objects and their conditions of production were discussed, the use of certain keywords in contemporary art was questioned, artistic productions were reviewed, and the current structure of artistic production in the framework of de-insdustrialization was revised. Each session developed as an honest and critical conversation, unfolded concepts and ideas that problematize the artistic and political reality today. We hope that reading this transcription will stimulate new ways of understanding contemporary artistic production.
