The workshop brought together female African algebraists from thirteen different African countries. The opening ceremony of the workshop was attended by various audiences, such as Kabale University Community, and female secondary school mathematics students and teachers from the six Districts of Kigezi Region. 

The first 2 days of the workshop included keynote presentations, 6 plenary talks and 12 contributed talks

Research in groups 

The 2-day talks were followed by collaborative research sessions for 4 days; participants collaborated on research projects within the following research groups.  The group leaders conducted reading seminars according to the research projects at least two months before the workshop.
