There Will Be Blood (2007)
This Oscar-winning film by Paul Thomas Anderson tells the story of Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), an oil man whose obsessive goals drive him to extremes.
The majority of the film was shot in Marfa, Texas - where a period town was constructed for the film. The Reader Railroad based in Arkansas provided the vintage steam locomotive and rolling stock. Here we see the former W.T. Carter & Brother #2, a 2-6-0 from 1907 pulling into the train station with a mixed train. The engine appears to have been modified from its normal appearance for the film.
The train can be seen briefly in several other scenes in the film, where we can see it has been renumbered as a nondescript "#1632." The engine and cars are now in storage at the Reader RR property, which is not currently open to the public.
