The Texans (1938)
The Texans (1938)
Randolph Scott stars as an ex-Confederate soldier trying to start a new life after the war in this early Paramount western.
Throughout the film, Chuckawalla (Walter Brennan) can't stop talking about how he just wants to lay eyes on the mythical steam engine. Finally at the end of the film it pays off as he appears in the fireman's seat leading the cattle stampede into town. The Virginia & Truckee's #22 "Inyo" and Kimball Coaches #1, 3 & 4 were filmed at Columbia Ranch in Burbank as well as the Southern Pacific Soledad Canyon line.
The Inyo and Coaches #3 & 4 have been restored and can be found at Nevada State RR Museum in Carson City. Sadly, Coach #1 was destroyed in a fire at Old Tucson.
