The Paradise Trail (1979)
The Paradise Trail (1979)
This low-budget western featured some great shots of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR.
An early scene shows D&RGW #484 stopping at the Chama depot. This engine and depot can still be seen at Cumbres & Toltec.
Throughout the film we see shots of the train underway, with a similar consist we've seen in other 1970s films. We see it pass by Cresco water tank. D&RGW RPO #065 (here #5345) can be seen in many films of this era.
Late in the film there is a tense standoff on an old wooden trestle. Here we catch a glimpse of Caboose #0503 at the rear end.
The film comes to a conclusion back at the Chama depot. I believe one of these coaches is X-54, still at Cumbres & Toltec.
