How we did it

We collected data from real assholes on reddit!
By scraping posts and comments from /r/AmITheAsshole, we were able to automatically generate a quality balanced dataset of ~30k examples on which to train our model.

We used transfer learning with BERT!
By fine-tuning a pre-trained language model like BERT, we hope we were able to train a model with stronger representational capabilities using less data.
Unfortunately it was really slow and we only got 61% validation accuracy.
