Following the submission of a petition calling for an early general election last night, which has met the required threshold to receive an official government response and to be considered for debate in the Imperial Senate, I have decided to call an early general election for October 17th.

This election will take place alongside the Provincial and Communal elections, which have been rescheduled from September to October 18th.

It is the duty of the Imperial system to heed the voices of the people of Gaul when they submit petitions seeking to exercise their constitutional right to democratically choose the government that serves under my name. The legitimacy of our institutions rests upon their continued connection with the will of the people, and their right to participate in the governance of the Empire must be respected.
