IMIJ ("we", "us", "our") operates the IMIJ mobile app (Android and iOS), an AI-powered virtual dress try-on and styling app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled.
1. Data We Collect
Account Data
Phone number — used to sign in via SMS one-time password (OTP). No password is stored.
Profile info you provide (e.g., name, body/size preferences) for personalization.
Photos & Images
Your photos (uploaded from your gallery) — used to generate virtual try-on results. Photos are sent to our backend and AI processing service to render you wearing selected garments.
Try-on results and history are stored so you can revisit past outfits.
We do not access your camera roll beyond the specific photo you select.
Voice Data
If you use voice input with the AI Stylist chat, your speech is captured via the microphone and processed by on-device or platform speech-recognition to convert it to text. Audio is not retained after transcription.
Usage & Device Data
Analytics & crash data (via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) — app usage patterns, device model, OS version, and crash logs, used to improve stability and features.
Push notification tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) — used to deliver notifications (e.g., try-on ready, offers). You can disable notifications in device settings.
Locally Stored Data
Favorites, collections, and cart items are stored on your device (Room database) and may sync with your account on our backend.
2. How We Use Data
Provide core features: virtual try-on, AI stylist chat, catalog browsing, favorites, cart.
Authenticate your account via OTP.
Improve app performance and fix bugs (via crash/analytics data).
Send push notifications you haven't opted out of.
Store your try-on history and preferences across sessions.
3. Data Sharing
We share data only with:
Our backend infrastructure (hosted on Railway) — stores account, try-on, and catalog data.
AI processing providers — to generate virtual try-on images from your uploaded photos.
Firebase (Google) — analytics, crash reporting, authentication support, and push notifications.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Data Retention
Account and try-on data are retained while your account is active.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).
5. Your Choices
Notifications: disable anytime in device settings.
Microphone: voice input is optional; text input is always available.
Photos: you choose which photo to upload for each try-on; nothing is uploaded automatically.
Account deletion: contact us to delete your account and data.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, token-based authentication) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
