How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want a durable right-angle plug with a big 13 mm driver and a tangle-resistant cord for school, flights and long Chromebook days, choose iMangoo Right Angle; if you need a wired earbud with an in-line mute button, volume controls and a pink finish that stands out, choose APETOO 3.5mm.
• iMangoo Right Angle — biggest strength: a 90-degree gold-plated 3.5mm plug paired with a 13 mm dynamic driver and a contoured, tangle-resistant cord that's built for all-day wear.
• iMangoo Right Angle — biggest trade-off: it comes in white only, it's a straight-up listening tool with no volume buttons or mute switch, and the warranty runs 8 months.
• APETOO 3.5mm — biggest strength: push-button volume control plus an in-line mute function, and the box includes two extra pairs of ear tips and a mini zipper case.
• APETOO 3.5mm — biggest trade-off: the driver size isn't specified, there's no stated frequency response, and the pink color is a love-it-or-leave-it choice.
• Pick iMangoo Right Angle if you want a sturdy right-angle connection and deep-bass tuning for commutes, classrooms and airplane seats.
• Pick APETOO 3.5mm if you want on-cable volume and mute control, spare tips in the box, and a colorful pair aimed at teens and adults.
The iMangoo Right Angle is the more purpose-built of the two. Its headline feature is that 90-degree gold-plated 3.5mm plug. That bend isn't cosmetic — a right-angle connector takes stress off the jack when the cable gets yanked sideways, which is exactly what happens when a phone or laptop slides off a desk or gets shoved into a backpack pocket. The plug sits flush against the device instead of sticking straight out, so it's less likely to catch on things.
Under the hood you get a 13 mm dynamic driver, 32 ohm impedance, 114 dB sensitivity and a 20 Hz–20,000 Hz frequency range. In plain terms: 32 ohms and 114 dB means these are easy to drive — a Chromebook headphone jack, an old iPod touch, a PS5 controller or a laptop will push them to a comfortable volume without a separate amp. The 13 mm driver is on the larger side for an in-ear bud, which is consistent with the deep-bass, clear-highs sound the brand describes. The cord is described as generous and tangle-resistant, and the buds use a lightweight contoured shape for a secure fit.
Who should skip it: anyone who wants to mute themselves mid-call with a button press, or adjust volume without reaching for the device. There are no on-cable controls here — only sound isolation. If you want color options, this one is white, full stop. And if you prefer silicone tips in multiple sizes to dial in fit, note that only one pair comes in the box.
APETOO 3.5mm: Who It's For
The APETOO 3.5mm leans into control and customization. The cable carries push-button volume control and a microphone, and the design includes a mute function — genuinely useful if you're on Zoom calls, in a library, or taking a class where you need to cut your mic instantly instead of fumbling for a software toggle. That's the feature that separates it most clearly from the iMangoo.
It's also the better-equipped package out of the box. You get the earbuds, a mini zipper carry case, and two extra pairs of ear tips in addition to the ones already fitted. If you've ever had a bud that never quite sealed in one ear, spare tips are the cheapest fix there is, and having them included is a real convenience.
The hardware is a 32 ohm dynamic driver in an ABS, TPE, copper and silicone build, with a gold 3.5mm plug and sound isolation. Notably, APETOO doesn't publish the driver diameter or the frequency range, so I can't make a spec-for-spec sound claim against the iMangoo's 13 mm / 20 Hz–20 kHz figures — I'd treat the driver-size comparison as unknown rather than assume either way.
The pink finish is the other headline. The brand positions these for girls and women and markets them as a gift, and they're listed for teens and adults. If you want earbuds that look like something rather than generic black or white, that's the appeal.
Who should skip it: anyone who needs a specific color other than pink, or who wants published driver specs before buying. And if your device has no 3.5mm jack — the brand flags this directly — neither bud will work without an adapter.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for on-cable control → APETOO 3.5mm. It's the only one of the two with push-button volume and an in-line mute.
• Best for plug durability → iMangoo Right Angle. Both use a 90-degree connector, but iMangoo makes the right-angle gold-plated plug its core design story and pairs it with a tangle-resistant cord.
• Best for published audio specs → iMangoo Right Angle. 13 mm driver, 32 ohm, 114 dB, 20 Hz–20,000 Hz. APETOO lists only 32 ohm and "dynamic driver."
• Best out-of-box accessories → APETOO 3.5mm. Two extra pairs of ear tips plus a mini zipper case, versus iMangoo's single protective case.
• Best for a bold look → APETOO 3.5mm. Pink, aimed at teens and adults. iMangoo is white.
• Best for everyday school and travel listening → iMangoo Right Angle. Lightweight contoured buds, sound isolation and a generous cord suit long classroom or flight sessions.
• Best for calls and remote meetings → APETOO 3.5mm. The mute function is the deciding feature.
• Best for fit tinkering → APETOO 3.5mm. Spare tips let you swap sizes; iMangoo ships one set.
• Warranty is a tie → both. Each carries an 8-month warranty.
In my opinion, I'd buy the iMangoo Right Angle if my main worry is the cable and plug surviving daily abuse — the right-angle gold-plated connector, the 13 mm driver and the fully published audio specs give me the most to reason from, and the white finish travels well between a Chromebook, a phone and a plane seat. I'd switch to the APETOO 3.5mm the moment mute and on-cable volume matter more than anything else, or if I want spare tips and a pink pair that doesn't look like every other earbud. Two different jobs, two clean answers.
Not universally. The iMangoo publishes more audio detail (13 mm driver, 114 dB, 20 Hz–20 kHz) and emphasizes plug durability. The APETOO wins on controls, with volume buttons and a mute function. Pick by what you actually use daily.
Yes — the brand lists a mute function along with wired in-line control and a microphone. That makes it the stronger pick for Zoom meetings, online classes and calls. The iMangoo has no on-cable controls.
Both are wired 3.5mm buds. The iMangoo lists Chromebook, PC, laptop and Mac-style devices; the APETOO lists Chromebook, HP Pavilion, Dell Inspiron and Acer Aspire. If your device has no 3.5mm port, you'll need an adapter.
