First thing to teach is that you love the puppy. This is easy because puppies want to be loved. It i shard because if you have not spent any time on dog psychology you can easily damage your puppies trust by punishments that make sense to you but make your dog think you are insane.

Teach your puppy you are sane.

Then teach your puppy their name. Their first name is puppy. Teach them their name by starting with puppy, moving to newname+ puppy aka “keykey-puppy come!” and then eventually drop puppy all together.

Teach your puppy to think. Games involving thought and problem solving will go a long way.

Teach your puppy to go potty outside. This involves praise when they go outside, not scolding when they go inside (remember the puppy doesn’t understand potty is bad they just know you go insane when they potty and it may inhibit their training) and keeping up your side of the training by taking them out enough.

Games and affection will teach your puppy that you are the best thing in the world.
