1. Introduction
Image resizer App ("we", "us", or "the App") helps you resize, compress, crop, convert, compare, batch process, and work with images and PDFs on your Android device. This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the App and how it is handled.
By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and stop using it.
2. Who this applies to
This policy applies to anyone who installs and uses the App. The App is distributed through the Google Play store.
3. Information the App processes
The App is designed so that core image and document work happens on your device. We do not require you to create an account.
3.1 Content you actively select
When you choose photos, images, or files (for example through the system photo picker or document picker), the App reads and processes that content on your device to perform the actions you request (resize, compress, crop, PDF tools, batch jobs, etc.). We do not access your gallery or storage in the background without your action.
3.2 Files the App creates
When you save outputs, the App writes files to locations allowed by Android (for example folders under Pictures or Downloads, depending on the feature). You remain in control of those files through your device.
3.3 Settings stored on your device
Preferences such as default quality, theme choices, filename prefix, and output folder preferences may be stored locally on your device using Android DataStore. This data stays on your device unless you clear app storage or uninstall.
3.4 Activity history stored on your device
The App may keep a local history of recent operations (for example operation type, labels, output dimensions, approximate paths or identifiers shown in the history list, and timestamps). This history is stored in a local database on your device (Room). It is not transmitted to our servers because we do not operate a backend service for these features.
3.5 Information we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or mailing address inside the App for routine use. We do not intentionally collect precise location from you through the App.
3.6 Batch and background work
When you run batch or background jobs, the App may temporarily store references to files you selected (for example content URI strings) in private app storage so work can finish reliably. This data remains on your device and is not sent to our servers.
4. Optional technologies (Google Play services & ML Kit)
Some features may use libraries provided by Google (for example on-device ML Kit components used for segmentation or related tools). Processing may occur on your device as implemented by those libraries. Google's privacy policies and terms may apply to those components where relevant.
Google Play itself may collect certain diagnostic or operational information according to Google's policies and your device settings.
5. Notifications
If you grant notification permission and the App presents notifications, they are controlled by Android according to your settings. We use notifications only for reasonable app-related purposes tied to functionality you use.
6. Permissions
The App requests only permissions needed for its features (for example posting notifications where applicable). Media access is intended to rely on system pickers rather than broad ongoing access to all photos, where the platform allows. You can review or revoke permissions in your device settings at any time.
7. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
If you use "Share" or similar actions inside the App, you choose the destination app or contact. We do not control third-party apps you share to.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security, to the extent permitted by law.
8. Security
We design the App with local processing in mind. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; you should keep your device updated and protected.
9. Retention and deletion
Settings and history persist on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App. Exported files remain until you delete them in your file manager or gallery.
10. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). Do not use the App if you are below the age at which you may lawfully consent to processing where consent is required.
11. International users
If you use the App outside your home country, your information may be processed on the device according to your OS and regional laws.
12. Your choices and controls
You can stop processing by closing the App or revoking permissions in Android settings.
You can clear locally stored preferences and history by clearing the App's storage (Android Settings → Apps → Image resizer App → Storage → Clear data), understanding this resets local settings and history.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy except where applicable law requires additional steps.
