Ilya Lifshits

Hi, glad to see you at my webiste.

I graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Legal Department, in 1994, and since then, I have been practicing as a lawyer at EDAS, a Moscow-based law firm specializing in tax law, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions.

My academic career began in 2005 when I was enrolled in the PhD program at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy (RFTA), a university with a special focus on international trade and financial law. I obtained my first research degree (PhD in international and European law) in 2011 and completed my dissertation on the topic "EU securities regulation".  In 2020, I was awarded my second research degree in international and European law with the dissertation "Theoretic Principles of the Interaction between International Financial Law and the EU Law"

Since 2012 I've been working as a lecturer in international law, international economic law, international tax law, and sustainable finance (from 2022 - remotely).  I have several dozen publications in Russian and English, including two personal books and two treatises that I co-authored (International Financial Law and WTO law). In 2023 and 2024 I had guest lectures in international tax law at Bologna University.
