iLock Pro

iLock Pro is an app-locking tool that protects the apps you choose with a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does, why it asks for the Android permissions it asks for, and — most importantly — what we do not do with your data. The short version: iLock Pro works entirely on your device, has no internet access, and never sends any of your information anywhere.

1. Our commitment to your privacy

iLock Pro does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, usage data, or app content. The app does not request internet access at all — it has no network permission in its Android manifest, so it is technically incapable of sending information to us or to any third party, even if it wanted to. Everything iLock Pro does happens locally, on your phone.

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting services, or any other third-party tracking libraries.

2. Permissions we request, and why

Android requires apps to explain each sensitive permission. Here is exactly what iLock Pro asks for and the specific reason behind each one.

Accessibility Service — Core feature

This is the permission that makes app-locking possible. Android does not give regular apps a way to detect "the user just switched to Instagram" — the Accessibility API is the standard, documented mechanism that app-lock apps use for this, instead of the far more invasive "draw over other apps" permission alone.

iLock Pro's Accessibility Service is used for exactly two things:

- Showing the lock screen: it watches for window-change events so that when you open an app you've chosen to protect, iLock Pro can immediately show its own PIN / pattern / fingerprint screen on top of it.

- Uninstall protection: if someone tries to uninstall iLock Pro itself, the service recognizes the system's "Uninstall this app?" screen and requires your PIN before the removal can continue, so the app can't be silently removed by someone else with access to your phone.

The service only ever reads the package name of the window currently in the foreground and, briefly, the on-screen text of the system uninstall confirmation screen (to confirm it's really about iLock Pro). It does not log your activity, does not record what you type in other apps, does not take screenshots, and none of this information ever leaves your device — there is no server for it to be sent to.

Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)

Used only at the exact moment you open an app you've locked: it briefly draws an opaque cover over that app's screen so its content is never visible, even for an instant, before our own lock screen fully appears on top of it. It is not used for ads, overlays on unrelated apps, or any purpose outside this one transition.

Query All Packages

Used only to build the list of apps installed on your phone, so you can choose which ones to lock in the main screen of iLock Pro. We only read app names and icons for this list — we do not read any data belonging to those apps.

Biometric / Fingerprint (USE_BIOMETRIC, USE_FINGERPRINT)

Used only if you choose to turn on fingerprint unlock as a faster alternative to typing your PIN or pattern. All fingerprint matching is performed by Android's own biometric system (backed by your device's secure hardware) — iLock Pro never sees, stores, or has access to your actual fingerprint data. We simply receive a yes/no result from the operating system.

3. Data retention, storage, and deletion

Your PIN or pattern is never stored as plain text. It is stored as a salted hash inside EncryptedSharedPreferences, encrypted with AES‑256 and tied to your device's Android Keystore. In practice this means:

- Even if someone extracted the app's storage files, they could not read your actual PIN.

- The encryption key never leaves your device's secure hardware.

- The list of apps you've chosen to lock is also stored locally on your device only, for as long as the app is installed.

iLock Pro does not support account creation, so there is no account or server-side data to request deletion of. To delete all app-lock data at any time:

- Choose "Remove lock permanently" in Settings, which immediately clears your PIN/pattern and unlocks all apps, or

- Uninstall the app, which removes all locally stored data along with it.

4. Data we do not collect

To be explicit, iLock Pro does not collect any of the following:

- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information (there is no account)

- Location data

- Contacts, messages, call logs, or photos

- Browsing history or activity inside the apps you lock

- Advertising identifiers or usage analytics

- Your actual fingerprint image or template

5. Data sharing and third parties

Because iLock Pro collects nothing and has no internet access, there is nothing to share. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose any information to advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party, because none is ever generated or transmitted off your device.

6. Children's privacy

iLock Pro is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, since it does not collect information from any user at all.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of iLock Pro adds a feature that requires a new permission — we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
